October 3 Electric Vehicle action plan meeting to be rescheduled
Arapahoe County is pushing back its public feedback period and a public meeting, originally scheduled for Oct. 3, to later in the year as more time is needed to address feedback on the initial Regional Electric Vehicle (EV) Action Draft Plan.
The 30-day public comment period that was set to start on Friday, Sept. 29, will be held in the coming months, along with a public meeting that will replace the canceled Oct. 3 meeting.
The proposed plan is geared to guide the County, its communities and partners toward a shared and cohesive vision for supporting plug-in electric vehicles in the future.
The draft plan supports actions identified in the 2040 Arapahoe County Transportation Master Plan, which identified building and supporting EV charging infrastructure as one way the County can facilitate the increase of EV usage.
Drafting the plan includes working collaboratively with a group of stakeholders, which have met during four planning workshops held between January 2022 and July 2023.
Stakeholders include representatives from Aurora, Centennial, Cherry Hills Village, Englewood, Littleton, Sheridan, Greenwood Village, Deer Trail, E470, Denver Regional Transportation of Governments, Denver South, Drive Clean Colorado, Regional Economic Advancement Partnership, Regional Transportation District, South Suburban Parks and Recreation, Colorado Department of Transportation, Colorado Energy Office, Core Electric Cooperative, Arapahoe Community College, Arapahoe Libraries, Xcel Energy and Partners in Energy, an Xcel Energy community collaboration.
